what is involved?
Based on criteria such as, and not limited to-
- Urgency of situation
- Provision of an up to date Tenancy Ledger
- Openness and honesty of details such as job history, financial details (current benefits and payments received), budget and spending
- Willingness to commit to a plan to transition towards stability and proof of applications and attempts to gain employment
General Information:
A person or family can be eligible for crisis accommodation if they are facing displacement due to financial or social reasons, or if they have to leave a dangerous situation such as domestic or family violence, or if they have to leave their usual residence to access medical treatment.
If you or someone’s life is in danger you should call 000 for the Police.
If you are in crisis and in need of urgent assistance, contact the Crisis Care Helpline (24 hours / 7 days a week) on (08) 9223 1111 (1800 199 088 for country callers). EntryPoint Perth (08) 6496 0001 also provides referrals to crisis and emergency accommodation across the Perth metropolitan region. You will be advised about what services are available to you.
People under 25 may be able to access youth accommodation provided by Youth Focus (6266-4333), Perth Inner City Youth Service (PICYS) 9388-2791 and Yes! Housing Anglicare WA

There are also private tenancy support programs available, which are funded under the National Partnership Agreement on Homelessness. What if I have a pet?
If you have a pet, you should talk to the accommodation service worker. We ideally welcome well behaved furry or feathery friends. If the accommodation cannot take your pet, you may contact places like Cat Haven (08) 9442 3600, Dog’s Refuge Home (08) 9381 8166, or Swan Animal Haven (08) 9279 8485. If you are escaping from family/domestic violence, Patricia Giles Centre has the Safe Families Safe Pets Program (08) 9300 0340 for your dog to be looked after up to three months.
How is my privacy and confidentiality protected?
Your confidentiality and privacy will be protected and the information you provide to the foundation will not be disclosed without your consent. However, there are limits to confidentiality and where someone’s safety is threatened or disclosure of a serious crime is made, confidentiality will be breached and information will be provided to appropriate authorities. Tenants will always be advised of an intention to breach confidentiality and why.
When accessing Crisis Care, it is important to remember this is part of the Department for Child Protection (DCP). All calls are logged and caller details recorded on a database which is accessible to DCP.
